connect-img

We believe that Christians both form, and are formed by, their brothers and sisters in the Church. Sometimes we call the development of Christian “connection.” We seek to connect with God and one another to form community. These connections can occur during worship, fellowship, education, or helping others.

While many of our experiences of community often occurs in small groups, we also have larger, congregational events which give us additional perspectives on community. Such events are usually accompanied by food in some form, for the potluck supper is nearly an art form at St. Paul & St. James!

20s/30s Group

We have a very active group for those ages 21-39ish. This group sponsors many events though out the year and also has had an active Bible Study. Many of their activities are social and a great way to meet other parishioners in this age group.

Volunteer and/or Make Donations for Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry/Clothes Closet

Loaves and Fishes has been a steadfast ministry of St Paul & St. James for over 25 years, providing a bag of groceries every Saturday morning to every person in need who comes through our doors. Its sister ministry, the Clothes Closet, is open to guests on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Volunteers welcome guests and sort and distribute food as well as clothes.

Loaves and Fishes always welcomes new volunteers, including those whose schedules allow them to volunteer just one time or on an intermittent basis. Volunteers meet in the church undercroft (using the back entrance) by 8:00 a.m. each Saturday and generally finish by about 11:00 am. Volunteers are also occasionally needed to transport and organize food items at other times, and you can bring donations of non-perishable food and clothing to St Paul & St. James anytime.
